Junction City is conveniently located to Eugene, within easy driving distance of many recreational opportunities for families. Drift boating, water skiing, sailing, fishing, camping and hiking opportunities are all within 30 minutes; and our area has wonderful biking roads for both avid bicyclist and the weekend enthusiast. Within an hour and a half the beautiful Oregon coast awaits featuring huge dunes and magnificent headlands; and 2 to 3 hours away are fine snow parks for downhill and cross country skiing.
Dining and Shopping
The main grocery store in town is Safeway, but there are several mini-marts that can also fill your needs. Junction City is the home and headquarters of Dari-Mart, providing the best in dairy products!
There are several choices for restaurants including barbecue, family style, Chinese and a steak house along with many wonderful deli & coffee shops.
Parks and Recreation
There are many local parks including a skateboard park for the kids. Junction City has a full service fittness center, a community swimming pool and it’s own parks and recreation district which sponsors local sports. There is even a community softball field where folks get together on the weekends for friendly play.
For those who love to read, the local library is open daily.
The yearly Scandinavian Festival is world renowned and offers a delightful week filled with music, dancing, crafts and Scandinavian fare.
Also of great importance is the annual classic car show and cruise. In excess of 600 cars are on display throughout the city all day and the evening is filled with watching them cruise the route through town.
